Anglian Boxer Club Special Puppy Competition Critique

Sunday 16th September 2007, Barnwell

SPD 6-8 months (8 - 1). 1st Woods' Sandyne Grand Finalé. Smart, compact br/w with good bone, lovely feet and rear angulation. Nice type of head with well padded muzzle and good mouth. Moved and showed well, BPD.

2nd Drinkwater's Sulez Backtoblack. Br/w with appealing head, evident chin and dark eyes. Good front and feet, level topline, another smart puppy.

3rd Watson's Roylark Goldfinger.

SPD 8-10 months (6 - 3). 1st Beardsell and Van Beck's Newlaithe On Target. Br/w, medium size, has a nice outline and good angulation. Attractive head with good stop.

2nd Knight and Sarsden's Sarsbrook High Roller. Bigger br/w, so will need more time to come together. Nice type of head with good topline and front.

3rd Huggins' Daervlish Joshua Tree.

SPD 10 - 12 months (6). 1st Winbush's Redmol Telegram Sam. Tall br/w with good head, topline and quarters. Moved well but was upset by another exhibit so didn't show well in the final.

2nd Brooks' Jinnybrux Genetic Genie. Smaller sized r/w, compact with attractive outline, appealing head with good stop, not quite the scope of the winner.

3rd Hannam's Star Quality at Dibrid

SPB 6 - 8 months (8 - 1). The class of the day, I would have been pleased to give a red card to any one of them. 1st Gilmour's Sandyne Exotic Dancer for Teandeeze. Littler sister to the dog winner and a little cracker. Posed looks a picture, compact, lovely front and feet, good shape overall and attractive head with expressive dark eyes. Close up to the eventual winner, just losing out in the final run round, must have a bright future.

2nd Drinkwater's Sulez Blackvelvet., another promising dark br/w, smooth outline, moved well, head very babyish compared with the winner's but time is on her side.

3rd Spencer's Ashronsha Dazzling Diva.

SPB 8-10 months (8 - 1). 1st Bell's Baibea Stare Ifya One 'T' at Surfstone. Lovely elegant golden br/w, pretty head with dark eyes, good length of neck, shoulders good and level topline. Correct rear angulation, round bone and neat feet. Moves nicely, Best Puppy in Event.

2nd Vanton's Vandenrob Magic Cracker. Very nice br/w, attractive head with strong muzzle, outline good and angulation, liked her a lot.,

3rd Beardsell and Van Beck's Newlaithe On A Promise.

SPB 10 - 12 months (6 - 3). 1st Brooks' Jinnybrux Gene Scene. R/w, like her brother has a lovely fine red coat, attractive outline, good angulation, pretty head with chin and a good stop.

ANGLIAN BOXER CLUB OPEN SHOW

I would like to thank the committee of the Anglian for the opportunity to judge my first breed show and their hospitality on the day, also to the exhibitors for what really was a lovely entry.

 

Minor Puppy Dog, 12 (2)

1st, Woods, Sandyne Grand Finale, at almost 7 months this brindle boy just cries quality, a stylish well boned baby with a lovely outline, well angulated front and back, good topline, excellent tail set, played up a little on the move but generally went well, head just right for his age, good mouth and dark eye, true boxer expression  a character with a promising future. BPD

2nd, Drinkwater’s, Sulez Backtoblack, brindle boy just 6 months, another quality baby who showed his socks off, balanced head with a good mouth, elegant neck, good front, correct angulation moved with drive, just preferred the overall style of 1.

3rd, Carter’s, Alf Abbett For Susancar.

 

Puppy Dog, 7 (2)

1st, Brooks, Jinnybrux Genetic Genie, 11 months red who exudes confidence and loves everyone, pleasing outline, good topline and tailset, balanced head ,mouth ok, lovely expression, dark eye, good front and rear angulation moved well with drive, overall a compact stylish puppy destined to do well.

2nd, Knight’s Sarsbrook High Roller, 9 months brindle, larger all round than 1st, a well boned, well angulated puppy who moved well, very well schooled, slightly heavy in head for me but with a lovely expression and a good mouth, just preferred the outline and character of 1st.

3rd, Wimbush’s, Redmol Telegram Sam.

 

Junior Dog, 10 (1)

1st, Edison’s, Soojon Vested Interest Via Vizage, Super red, presents a cracking outline, well boned strong young dog who has a good front and quarters, a lovely balance head with a good mouth dark eyes and a real boxer expression,  a handful but moved well, won the class but for me on the day was carrying a little to much weight to go further.

2nd,Carter’s, Susancar Roland DeHay, golden brindle who was unlucky to come up against 1st, Good front and topline, balanced head, dark eye, nice expression evident chin, presents pleasing outline with correct angulation when stacked and moved well.

3rd, Knight’s, Walkon Surely Not Of Sarsbrook.

 

Novice Dog 8 (3)

1st, Blackley’s, Faerdorn Illusionist at Sunhawk Norwatch, a very flashy golden brindle boy who took my eye as he came into the ring, lovely outline, well laid shoulders, elegant neck that flows into a correct topline, well muscled quarters that he used to advantage on the move, a balanced head, well padded muzzle with a melting expression, a good mouth and correct lip placement, generally moved well, my only criticism was at times he was a little loose in front, however a very well deserved BD, RBIS.

2nd, Allen’s Rattray It’s The Business, dark brindle just 16 months, pleasing outline when stacked, good front, tight feet, well angulated, balanced head, well padded muzzle nice expression, a likeable character but his movement was at times erratic.

3rd, Chell’s, Manic Surely Not At Ludic.

 

Graduate Dog 8 (2)

1st, Cherry’s, Cherryforge Sure Times, a brindle dog, I found his clean balanced head very appealing, dark eye, good mouth, today he used his neck to the full, he has a good front and is well angulated behind with strong quarters, although a handful he looked good stacked, perhaps a shade long but he moved well and did all that was asked.

2nd, Godwin’s, Sultash Mighty Man, another brindle boy 20 months old, who I have admired from the ringside, loved his clean head, good mouth, evident chin, melting expression, good front and shoulder placement, moved well, on the day just preferred the outline and quarters of 1st.

3rd, Wild’s, Honeybox Jack Of Diamonds For Carwilyd.

 

Post Graduate Dog 4 (1)

1st, Melville & Gething’s, Jeddhi Yankee Pasha, brindle dog, really smart outline, head of excellent proportions, good muzzle and mouth evident chin, dark eyes, front assembly correct, good topline and quarters, moved well expertly handled to win the class, just failed in the line up due to the attitude and exuberance of the winner. RBD

2nd Simpson’s, Faerdorn The Wizard At Hilthorn, brindle dog with a pleasing head, kind expression, dark eyes, well angulated front and back, not the easiest dog to handle, although he moved well.

3rd, Esders, Faerdorn Blend N Mend Sh CM.  

 

Limit Dog 4

1st, Lockwood-Brown & Curtin’s, Norwatch Sunhawk Danny Boy At Shiloh, a well balanced golden brindle who presents a lovely outline, well angulated in front, good topline & quarters, handled and moved well, a little heavy in head but is balanced, has a good mouth, nice expression, showed well and did just enough to win the class.

2nd, Breakspear’s Porth Crest Of A Wave, eye catching brindle dog, good head, excellent mouth, presents a lovely outline and moves well using his well angulated quarters to the full, well handled, could easily change places with 1st on another day.

3rd, Wimbush’s, Redmol Major Tom.

 

Open Dog 1

1st, Pynegar’s, Berwyna Bulletproof, have admired this substantial Golden Brindle dog from the ringside, good in profile, well boned, a strong head,  very good mouth, dark eyes and evident chin, nice expression, well balanced, with good front and shoulder placement perhaps slightly over angulated behind but in excellent condition, moved and handled well.

 

Veteran Dog or Bitch 3 (1)

1stSimpson’s, Ch Hillthorn Gold Blend, red, well known Champion who is still looking good at almost 9 years, his head still shows quality and he has the outline, muscle tone and quarters to put some of the youngsters to shame, Best Veteran

2nd, Wild’s, Honeybox Jack Of Diamonds For Carwilyd, 10 year old brindle, another in fine condition, enjoying his day out, pleasing in head and outline played his handler up a little but moved well for his age.

Minor Puppy Bitch 12 (2)

1st , Gilmour’s, Sandyne Exotic Dancer For Teandeeze, at almost 7 months this brindle bitch really took my eye, when on her toes, stacked she looks a picture, her head is well balanced, good muzzle, dark eyes, good mouth and lip placement, a cracking expression, good front, elegant neck, good topline, well developed quarters, moved well for her age.

2nd, Drinkwater’s, Sulex Blackvelvet, brindle baby of just 6 months, head just right for her age, good mouth, lovely eyes, well angulated, good front and topline, moved well, nothing exaggerated showed her socks off, just lost out on maturity, I’m sure these will both have a bright future.

3rd, Vanston’s Valdenrob Magic Cracker.

 

Puppy Bitch 4 (1)

1st, Bell’s, Baibea Stare Ifya One ‘T’ At Surfstone, 10 months brindle just right for her age, lovely head and expression, dark eyes correct shape, good mouth, elegant neck which flows into a good topline, good front and shoulders, well developed quarters, good bone, best mover of the puppies both coming and going, well handled to BPIS.

2nd, Turner’s, Tigalian Magic Edition, 9 months brindle, well schooled, good in profile,  good head although a little strong for me, good mouth, good front and correct shoulder placement, well developed correctly angulated quarters, good topline, moved well, expertly handled.

3rd, Brooks, Jinnybrux Geetic Genie.

 

Junior Bitch 7 (1).

1st, Watson’s, Roylark Pussy Galore, 15months red, a real eye catcher, a very stylish young lady, full of mischief and difficult to handle, excellent outline, super balanced head, good dark well shaped eyes, melting expression, excellent mouth, evident chin, good bone, good front and well laid back shoulders, strong back, well muscled, she moved freely to gain RBB.

2nd, Harvey’s, Faerdorn Colour By Numbers, 17 months brindle who took great delight in playing up her handler, however she presents a lovely outline when stacked, a well balanced head and an expression that shouts boxer, good topline, spot on tail set, good angulation, moved well to get second in a strong class.

3rd, Tucker’s, Carmondene Viola At Abythorn.

 

Novice Bitch 6 (5).

1st, Carter’s, Susancar Trudy Zyna, 15 months red who stood alone, balanced, head ok, good chin, dark eyes, lovely expression, used her neck to the full, well angulated strong bitch who covers the ground well.

 

Graduate Bitch 11 ( 2).

1st, Godwin’s, Sultash Tees Hannaur, 20 months brindle who catches your eye straight away with her outline and elegant neck, excellent in forehand with good height of foreleg, a pretty appealing head, very clean with a deep wide muzzle, evident chin, good lip placement, a little erratic on the move but fully deserved the class.

2nd, Peck’s, Socotra Wired To The Moon Via Enesha, brindle bitch always on her toes although a bit of a fidget, lovely when stacked, well angulated with a good front, nice eyes and expression not the clean head of 1st moved with purpose.

3rs, Melville and Gething’s, Sunhawk Norwatch Mystical At Jeddhi.

 

 

 

Post Graduate Bitch 4

1st, Mewett’s Newlaithe Lilibet,  2 ½ years, red, very well handled, well angulated pleasing in profile, pretty head, cracking expression, good mouth, moved well keeping her topline on the move.

2nd, Higgs, Norwilbeck Angel Dust, 3 years, brindle, gave handler a hard time, good front angulation, head over done for me, when stacked her outline& topline were fine and she moved ok using her strong quarters to advantage.

3rd, Simpson’s, Hilthorn Way Around.

 

Limit Bitch 5 (1)

1st, Frary’s, Rebox Radiance At Waiheke, a 4 year red who really gave her all, a picture when stacked, well balanced head, well angulated, good quarters, moved with drive keeping her topline at all times, well handled.

2nd, Peck’s, Enesha Mamma Mia, 3 years smaller brindle with a nice outline, pretty head, lovely dark eyes a little nervous but soon settled for her patient handler and did well on the move.

3rd, Ames, Soojon Star Attraction For Thenamy.

 

Open Bitch 4 (2)

1st, Pyneger’s, Ch Berwynfa Sugar Babe, 2 year old golden brindle, just shouts quality and elegance, well balanced head, evident chin, good mouth and lip placement, dark eyes, melting expression, good height of foreleg, tight feet, good front and layback of shoulder, elegant neck which flows into her correct topline, spot on tail set, strong well angulated quarters, strong hocks, moved with drive and purpose, never let her expert handler down once, BIS.

2nd Beardsell & Van Beck’s, Newlaithe Just Stunning, 4 year old red,, very stylish, square and short coupled, well angulated hammy quarters, head appeals, good muzzle, dark expressive eyes of correct shape, very well schooled, moved well, preferred the elegance of 1st.
